Sensory issues
Sensory integration disorder and issues that comes with it.
35 votesYou can now use the category Sensory, either in your list or accessed by using ‘Something Else’
As you add different descriptions of sensory interventions or seeking behaviors or whatever details you are documenting, they will pre-populate.
Then you can graph them in reports, see total counts during different periods, get a review of them sent in your weekly and monthly email summaries, and more.
Let us know what you think and how we can make these more effective for you!

Include duration for all activities
Please include a way to document a duration (or an end time that calculates the duration) for an activity. Type, scope, duration and frequency of caregiver assessments, judgements, interventions are critical things we track.
32 votesGreat suggestion.
We definitely understand how crucial these pieces are and what a valuable addition to the tool they will be.
It is a big undertaking to properly implement these in a “smart” way so they can be applied to all of the different ways that people use this type of system, but we are working on it right now and it’s going to be a magnificent and empowering solution when we start to roll out these changes.
I wish I could say we’ll have this available right away, but it’s on it’s way. Hopefully what we have is helpful to some degree without them, and I look forward to hearing how you like the solution we come up with when it becomes available. If there’s any way we can help with anythign else, in the interim, of course, always let us know.

22 votesGreat suggestion!
We will keep these in mind as we continue to evolve the product.
I would love to see an example of what you mean by ‘make a grid and add data’. Do you already have something like this you’d like to be able to do and update with Birdhouse that we could see? How do you do this system?
You can email us details at owl@birdhousehq.com -

Post photos.
We use a lot of visual feedback for my son. It would be great if I could post photos too.

Tracking Accuracy on a Graph
I am a special education teacher. I would like to be able to have a graph that tracks date vs accuracy for goals.
12 votesExcellent suggestion. Have you played with our current Reports page at all yet?

can't seem to do much on the mobile app version compared to desktop website version
i'm a newbie so please forgive me if i have missed out features.. but I just found the mobile app version missing a lot of the features available on the desktop website version even as a premium user.
like unable to check if scheduled medication has been given, or seeing reports, and etc. And there's no 'more' tab, or other option tab that allows me to go to other sections/features available on desktop version birdhouse, like profile, export data and etc.
..which also reminds me.. is there option to export data in different formats other than csv? not sure what…10 votes -
In the mood section, I would like to be able to select multiple moods as my son often is multiple moods in different instances.
Option to select multiple moods in one post.
9 votesAbsolutely! Great idea.
This is definitely on our list. We have a few other big things in line ahead of it that I think you’re gonna like, but we will definitely get to this after that. We will update the status here as we get closer, so you know when it’s coming. -
Differentiate current and ended nutrition schedules visually in the nutrition list
When changing the dose for a nutrition, there is a popup that explains how to keep the history by setting an end date for the current dose and creating a new schedule with the new dose.
It would be nice if the lines with end dates in the past had different formatting in the nutrition table.
In the following picture, one of the highlighted lines has an end date in the past and the other one is current, but that is not obvious. Maybe the ended line could be stroke through or colored with a lighter gray to make it…

Simple Report Types (for me) and more so for my Kid's Doctor
- Export is NOT working for me. Sure I can export to excel and also to word..BUT..unfortunately it just shows formatting errors. Much better to export into a .pdf which can then be emailed to my kid's therapist?. 2 Better still, if the export could create a LINK which the therapist could click and view the report generated by me? 3. Can we do line graphs and piecharts..yeah not as cool as funny face icons, but great for Left brain types :-(

I need to track poop and correlate with supplements and food.
It would be awesome to look at poop specifics, not just time/date, while also comparing it to supplements and/or food. We are working on healing my son's gut, so figuring out poop problems is the number one reason I use Birdhouse at this point. Also to monitor moods and reactions to supplements and foods, so having a broader range of moods would be helpful. I think you guys are working on that though...
8 votesWe are working on adding more options for how you track and evaluate Poop.
One new option would be to create a new category called something like Poop Status (or anything other than Poop) and then you could enter the different descriptions/common categories, like ‘small’ or ‘loose’, etc, whatever specifics you needed to measure separately.

Collaborator roles and permissions
I would really like to use this to have my son's care team collaborate more effectively. And, I know that there are some things that I might put in BirdHouse that I would still want private. Could you add in permission levels, either by object (note / file / etc) and/or by user so that I can restrict access to some things?
For example, if I were to keep track of IEP notes, I might not want my actual IEP team to see everything that I have written.
7 votesWe agree, this feature is very important and is something we are currently working to provide. We’ll update this as we make progress on it.

It were accessible to Autistic persons who wish to self-regulate.
I'm an Autistic adult who'd like some sort of app that would help me keep track of this sort of thing on my own. Birdhouse is amazing, but sometimes I feel a little condescended by it since it's geared towards parents of Autistic kids.
7 votesThis is great feedback.
I’m so sorry to hear that it gives you a condescending tone.
We started with making the tool focused on adults looking after kids, as that was our personal need and what we knew best. We are trying to do a GREAT job at that before diverting our attention.
That being said, we are also always looking for ways to make changes and learn more about how to accommodate more people who would like to use the tool.
If you would like to send us a private message at owl@birdhousehq.com and share more specifics about what parts make you feel condescended to, how you currently use it that is helpful, and what are some changes we could make that would make it even more helpful, we’d love to hear about it and think about how when can incorporate that feedback into our plan. -
Need to make it easier to invite collaborators
I'm trying out Birdhouse and it seems like a great idea. However, it's difficult and confusing to invite a collaborator (for me and for them). I'd like to collaborate with my son's nanny, ABA, OT, etc...but I know that if its not super easy for them to use, they won't do it and I'll be stuck trying to elicit and record their notes.
7 votesCollaboration is a newer feature at the moment, and we are currently in the process of making the process of inviting new collaborators more convenient and straightforward. We’re excited to be able to make this more accessible as this year goes on.

I would like it if we could focus on a certain part of the day during reports.
For example, if I notice a lot of things happening from 1-3, I would like to be able to "zoom" into that time so I can see what all is going on and not be overwhelmed by everything else on the report. I can choose the date range, yes, but I would also like to choose the range for the Y-axis. :)
7 votesThis is a great suggestion! Our team will take it under evaluation and see what we can make happen.

Add activity for more than one person
I would love to be able to add an activity for more than one person at a time, for example, when we all eat a meal together, be able to add it to more than one person at a time instead of having to do them individually.
6 votesGreat suggestion!
We definitely will ad this, although I don’t have a timetable, at the moment. -
Behavioral Tools
Section for CBT and DBT skills
breathing, counting, ABC's, singing, things that the child has been taught to assist in calming down
5 votesYou can now create a category for these things on the More page on the web, and then they will be added to your Activities list, and you can then record what happens and when.
If you have questions, please ask at owl@birdhousehq.com
