      Hi Julie!
      Great suggestions.
You can do the first one already - go to the Folders page and add a new category/folder if you don't already have one for Food, and then you can add each food to that list. These will then all be available when you go to add a new Food entry as your common options or autocomplete list.
Your second idea is a great suggestion and definitely something on our to-do list.
You can type them in as a list together and they will still show up on search for the individual foods, but they won't be tabulated the same in reports the way I think you'd like. Now, if you don't use that too much, you might find it works better for you to type them in altogether and just be able to find them in Food filters and/or search. Especially if you're looking against toileting, you can look for relative food items and then review whatever is in the list.
      I hope this helps.
You can write us at owl@birdhousehq.com if you need more help or have specific questions.

Hi! That sounds pretty interesting, could you elaborate more on this idea? We are actually working on adding this right now. What would you specifically like to see to suit these needs?

        Hi Katie,

Thank you for using Birdhouse and for sending us your request!

We've heard a lot of people want this feature, but there's also many people who prefer the current order. So we're working on adding an option so you can set the order to how you want it.

We'll keep you posted on the progress and when you can expect it to be available. :)

        Best,

        Steph

          Great question!
Perhaps some of the community will chime in here to share their techniques?

We do have activities already set up for tracking many injury and symptoms. In order to access them, you just need to start using them and they will personalize based on your needs as you try it out.
Please reach out if you need any specific guidance, just like you did. :)

Each time you notice an occurrence or outbreak of Eczema (or another important symptom/condition)
          - Add a new activity > choose Something Else > enter Eczema
          - Description: enter the severity [mild, medium, severe]
          - Notes: specify where the outbreak is occurring and perhaps some other details for future reference

This will help you see any trends in how the Eczema is improving or worsening, perhaps different on some days than others, or whether it comes and goes in waves or any other sort of pattern.

          To get even more insight:
          - Start logging other types of activities alongside those outbreaks, ideally on a daily basis. If you have an idea for what could be contributing to them, all the better.

          For example:
For some individuals, Eczema is linked to diet. So you may find it helpful to add Food activities at mealtimes, with the details of what is being eaten. Or perhaps you want to determine if the Eczema is in response to a dairy or egg allergy, in which case you'd log only those instances where dairy or egg products are consumed.

Over time, it will become apparent if there are any correlations between diet and Eczema outbreaks by looking through your Birdhouse timeline or visualizing it in the Reports section.

You can now use the category Sensory, either in your list or accessed by using ‘Something Else’

As you add different descriptions of sensory interventions or seeking behaviors or whatever details you are documenting, they will pre-populate.

Then you can graph them in reports, see total counts during different periods, get a review of them sent in your weekly and monthly email summaries, and more.

Let us know what you think and how we can make these more effective for you!

AdminBirdhouse Owl (The Wise One, Birdhouse) commented  ·

You can graph/total count of inedible items to mouth or nose- type of item (plastic toy, stick outside).

If you enter an activity type of Sensory or even Inedible Items in Mouth, you can put instances of each type in the description.

On the Reports page, you can then select this and see them on the graph, and under Advanced Filters, see total counts of each within whatever date period you choose.

Let us know what you think :)

                  Great suggestion, Michelle!
You can do some of this now by using the Something Else option and adding a category called Sensory (or whatever you want). It actually is pretty amazing!

                    ***Previous Update****

                    STARTED - October 01, 2014

We are working on some ideas for this now.
There are A LOT of ways we can do this and a lot of different things people might want; a place to share their tips, a place to read about new tips, a place to ask questions, both general and specific, and to get feedback from other people's experience.

                    Is this something you want?
How much do you want it, or how much do you think you would use it, or how do you think you would use it?
What would you like to use it for?

Tell us how you what you think about this idea.

We are going to start offering some of this and then evolve it over time, based on how everyone uses it.

                      Absolutely.
This is a challenging one. We used to have different faces for the moods and it was great and really fun. As we started adding more moods, it took a lot longer to add them if we wanted to have matching faces for each one. We decided that, for the time being, it would be better to add new mood options faster and eliminate the faces issue until we could handle it more efficiently.

Have you clicked the ‘Show Advanced Filters’ checkbox, yet?
It’s not a perfect solution, but this will give you another chart that will allow you to show/hide the specific mood types, so you could include only positive or negative ones on the graph, or only a specific mood, and this would allow you to know what the smily face represents, for the time being.

Or you can scroll down to the Data table and check…

We are working on adding more options for how you track and evaluate Poop.

One new option would be to create a new category called something like Poop Status (or anything other than Poop) and then you could enter the different descriptions/common categories, like ‘small’ or ‘loose’, etc, whatever specifics you needed to measure separately.

If you have questions, please ask at owl@birdhousehq.com

                              Great point!
We will definitely make sure to get this in there.
In the interim, what you could do is use a consistent name for these and enter it under Other.
Then, in the Advanced Filters section, you could select just those types of Other that you want to see on the chart and in the data table, and compare it with the supplements or foods. You can even compare just a certain food with just a certain poop outcome and see if there is a correlation.
If you want more specifics or a walk-thru for how to do this, shoot us an email at owl@birdhousehq.com and we can set that up.

                                Hi Linda,

                                A whole bunch of good questions here;
The mobile app is definitely more limited than the web version; it is currently designed to be complementary and for them to work together, where the mobile app focuses on features that are really needed on-the-go throughout the day and the web/desktop version allows you to do more planning/management items.

You are using Birdhouse Premium, so you should be able to see the scheduled medications, and even swipe them to mark them off as complete when they have been given. They should be showing up on the Activity feed. Are they missing? Do you see the Activity feed at all?

Reports is a brand new feature in it's very first version. It is not available in the mobile app, and unfortunately you cannot export the charts yet (but it's definitely on our list).

Next up on our list is for you to view and manage your Nutrition and Therapy items in the mobile app. Then there will be Profile info and a lot of other goodies coming.

Right now CSV export is the only type we offer, which, in case you weren't sure, is just a spreadsheet. This way people can always get all of their data out of Birdhouse, and it is the most common format used for people to be able to do their own processing. As I mentioned, exporting graphs and such is on our list, but not yet available. You could probably just push print in the browser and print your screen with your graphs on them and then edit/crop the image, if you really wanted that before it was an available feature.

Finally, I am really sorry you are experiencing so much lag. Some people do seem to be having quite a bit of that. We are actively working on that issue right now and we should have it fixed up and running super speedy very soon.

                                I hope this helps :)

This is a great suggestion! I will definitely add it to our list and keep you updated as we're able to prioritize it and it makes any progress.

In the interim, perhaps a way to get a version of this to work would be to use a tool where you can take a picture and get a link to it, and then put that link in the notes of one of your Birdhouse posts. For example, I know with Evernote you can easily take a picture and get a link to it.

                                  This page has a list of A LOT of tools that might help you with this;
